Description

SUMMARY

The Electrician is responsible for maintaining the electronics associated with the machinery and equipment required to manufacture piston rings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties include but are not limited to): 

1) Electrical

a) Knowledge & well versed on NEC requirements

b) Sound knowledge of Electrical Theory

c) Experience with Commercial and Industrial Power supply and feeder per codes.

d) Trouble shoot fuses

e) Effective use of Volt and Amp meter

f) Troubleshoot and change proximity switches

g) Change out a servo motor

h) Ability to unwire and rewire motors

2) Blueprints and Diagrams

a) Must be able to read machine builder prints.

b) Ability to read, design and edit hydraulic and pneumatic blue prints.

3) Machine Rebuilding

a) Repair/refurbish worn components

b) Install bearings, rails and slide units

c) Replace ball screws

d) Repair and replace hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, cylinders and valves.

e) Ability to re-plumb a cell as well as plumb from scratch

f) Knowledge of rigging and safe lifting of equipment.

g) Repair and replace vacuum and dust collection lines.

h) Ability to perform regular preventative maintenance activities.

i) Change out couplings and clutches.

j) Perform a vibration analysis

k) Build new components from drawings.

l) Reverse engineer machine components.

m) Build a machine from a drawing.

n) Perform a hydraulic system design, to include valves, pressure and regulators.

o) Knowledge of Ultra sound technology

p) Use Infrared thermography

4) Fabrication

a) Proficiency in steel, mig/tig, gas, wire and stick welding

b) Ability to fabricate machine guarding

c) Understands basic machine function and is able to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

d) Skilled in mill and lathe machining.

2) Teardown and re-assemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.

3) Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

4) Performs typical maintenance tasks to support the entire facility. 

5) Makes minor plumbing repairs, as necessary

6) Must be familiar with and use all hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed and be well versed in the disciplines mentioned above. 

7) Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. 

8) Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.

9) Must be able to drill and tap

10) Change out drive belts and chains.

11) Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner.

12) Recommends production efficiency and quality improvements to supervisor. 

13) Comply with safety regulations and ensure cleanliness in work area.

14) Immediately report incidents and accidents in work area. 

15) Document all Project &Work Order related activities in computer tracking System e-Maintenance.

16) All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  2. High School Diploma or GED required, advance education desired.
  3. Must hold State of Michigan Card license as Journey or Master Level.
  4. 3-5 years of related Machine Repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
  5. Ability to program CNC machines using G and M codes or through conversational programming.
  6. Selection of proper tools to create geometry.
  7. Proficiency in setting optimal speed and feeds for material type, as well as cutting tools selection.
  8. Knowledge of internal combustion engines and related mechanical systems.
  9. Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  10. Mechanical aptitude with internal combustion experience or understanding desired.
  11. Familiar with basic computer software and programing software use
  12. Follows applicable safety and environmental rules and regulations.
