Hastings Manufacturing is Hiring a CNC Operator Near Hastings, MI

Description

1. Analyze a variety of specifications from blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize product to be made.

2. Must have knowledge to lay out stock, as well as set up and operate machine tools and hand tools.

3. Fit and assemble components to make, maintain, and repair tools, jigs, fixtures, bushings, collars, gages, and mold patterns. 

4. Compute dimensions, decide on machining to be done, plan layout and assembly operations. 

5. Verify the dimensions, alignments, and clearances while using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gage blocks, thickness gages, and micrometers.

6. Adapt to new methods, processes, material, and equipment. 

7. Record data on employee time/job card. 

8. Report work shortages to Manager/Supervisor. 

9. Recommend production efficiency and quality improvements to supervisor. 

10. Comply with safety regulations and ensure cleanliness in tool and die area to include all tools, benches, and machines.

11. Immediately report incidents and accidents in work area. 

12. Participate in an environment and culture that promotes safety in the workplace. 

13. Attends and contributes to department and Company meetings.

14. Develop constructive relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants and governmental agency representatives as necessary. 

15. Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

1. We expect all team members to exhibit our guiding principles, all day, every day – Respect, Dedication, Integrity, Teamwork and Positivity. 

2. High School diploma or equivalent required.

3. Ability to program CNC machines using G and M codes or through conversational programming. (SolidWorks, Mastercam, and Fanuc languages used on 3 axis)

4. Selection of proper tools to create geometry.

5. Proficiency in setting optimal speed and feeds for material type, as well as cutting tools selection.

6. Knowledge of internal combustion engines and related mechanical systems.

7. Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills.

8. A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in programming CNC, Mills, Lathes, EDM, Grinders and secondary machines or equivalent course work through a technical trade school, preferred.

9. Willingness to work various shifts and overtime as needed.

10. Fluent in English with comprehensive speaking, writing, spelling skills. 

11. Position subject to indoor factory conditions; heated in winter and non-air conditioned in summer

12. Must be able to perform basic math.

13. Basic knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
