Position Overview:
The Business Process Manager establishes an agile and focused innovation capability in the department. This position strives to improve the overall performance by managing and optimizing existing and new work processes. This is a new position and the primary function of the manager includes oversight and facilitation of day-to-day operations within assigned area of specialty, participating in planning, development, evaluation and improvement. They monitor and manage processes within a department to ensure the processes help the department achieve its goals. The manager will work collaboratively with every department in the county to improve process management

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the business process manager are:
Monitor current business processes, provide analysis and feedback.
Investigate complex issues, make decisions, and develop solutions.
Produce innovation in the form of new impactful processes.
Support with planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for process improvement projects, including the newly created Innovation Lab
Analyze and evaluate work processes and recommend improvements.
Work with Technical Writer in creating documentation of process changes.
Create progress, reports, and suggestions for senior executives.
Perform quality assurance for new processes.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience:
5-10 years business experience in IT or related field.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Communicate effectively at all organization levels
Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills are essential
Must be flexible and willing to adapt to change
Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
The ability to interact with staff at all levels
Strong knowledge of personal computers and software, specifically Microsoft Office

Education:
Bachelor in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Certification in Project Management.
Experience:
10 Years experience in small or medium government entities
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
Technical Writing experience
Knowledge of process modelling, workflow diagramming and use case documentation
Project Management and Business Process Modeling Experience a plus.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday | 40hrs
Regular Full-time | Onsite Position
Hybrid Schedule
May be required to work more than forty hours during the workweek and/or weekends or on-call 24 hours a day to meet special projects or deadlines
Subject to performing other duties as assigned
Must live or plan to live in the Houston Texas metropolitan area
