About the Job

The Demand Planner will be responsible for analyzing sales and market trends, customer demand patterns, and historical sales data to develop accurate demand forecasts for our NorthPoint cabinet products. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence. Experience in supplier relationship management and purchasing is preferred.

By leveraging your knowledge of supply chain management and your ability to identify opportunities for improvement, you will contribute to the overall success of our organization’s purchasing operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting:

  • Utilize statistical models, industry knowledge, and collaboration with sales and marketing teams to develop accurate and reliable demand forecasts for kitchen cabinet products.
  • Regularly review and adjust forecasts based on market dynamics, promotional activities, and other relevant factors.

Inventory Optimization:

  • Work closely with the supply chain and procurement teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing excess and obsolete stock while ensuring product availability.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory turns, fill rates, and other key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster strong communication channels with customers, sales, marketing, and production teams to gather insights and align on demand forecasts.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to internal stakeholders, highlighting potential risks and opportunities in the demand planning process.
  • Work closely with the supply chain and procurement teams to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing excess and obsolete stock while ensuring product availability.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant information to generate insights that inform demand planning decisions.
  • Develop and present regular reports on key performance indicators, forecast accuracy, and inventory metrics.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance demand planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and drive efficiencies within the supply chain.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in demand planning software and tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and/or related software

Education and Employment Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • Proven experience in demand planning within the manufacturing or home improvement industry is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
  • May require travel
