Westlake Financial Accounting Operations Senior Accountant ILos Angeles, CA | In-Office role

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Operations manager and be responsible for month-end entries and close, reconciliations, financial reporting, forecasting, system implementation projects, vendor analysis, and ad hoc projects per management request.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform daily bank, G/L, and various other account reconciliations
• Record accruals for month-end entries
• Support various key month-end closing procedures
• Analyze account information for asset, liability, and expense journal entries
• Research variances on Accounts Payable and Account Receivable ledger & sub-ledgers
• Practice a strong working knowledge of technical accounting regarding loans, disbursements, revenue recognition, credits/debits, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Intricate understanding of GAAP & analyzing data
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, preferably on a large team
• Openness, interest to learn, and willingness to "dive into" the work
• Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills
• PREFERRED: Knowledge and use of Great Planes, Oracle, & SQL

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related.
• 2-3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Intricate understanding of GAAP & analyzing data
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, preferably on a large team
• Openness, interest to learn, and willingness to "dive into" the work

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of SQL, Macro, and Great Plans
• MBA a plus, but not required
• CPA a plus, but not required

Job Type:

• Full-time

PAY RATE:

• $90,000 - $110,000 per year 
• The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable
