Position SummaryThe Human Resources & Safety Director will play a crucial role in managing HR functions and ensuring workplace safety compliance within the company. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in human resources and a deep understanding of safety regulations specific to the plumbing industry. Primary ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources
Administer all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and offboarding.
Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with legal standards and company values.
Facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
Manage employee benefits programs and address any related queries or issues.
Assist finance department in gathering employee timecards for payroll processing.
Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
Manage personnel programs, policies, team member relations, and staff activities throughout the organization.
Develops company-wide policies and programs in support of company values and goals
Safety Coordinator
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
Organize and facilitate safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees.
Investigate and document any workplace accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, incidents, and training sessions.
Stay current with industry safety standards and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters within the company.
Other Duties
Establishes and maintains a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective oral and written communication skills.
Participates in company meetings, initiatives, and marketing efforts as appropriate.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources and safety coordination, preferably within the construction or plumbing industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety management practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, CSP) is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment with occasional visits to job sites.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical activities related to safety inspections.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed.
