Job Title: CNS/SO Unit Victim’s Advocate-Team Support Specialist (3943-31) Job Overview: The Office of Melissa Powers, Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney is seeking a Victim’s Advocate-Team Support Specialist for the CNS/SO Unit of the Common Pleas Division. The CNS/SO Unit prosecutes felony child support and sex offender registration cases. Additionally, the unit enforces sex offender residency restrictions. This person will work alongside attorneys to ensure the safety of the citizens of Hamilton County, and will have direct interaction with victims of crimes. Starting Salary: $47,955 Annually: Additional compensation may be considered based on experience. Responsibilities and Duties: Assist in the preparation of all CNS/SO Grand Jury proceeding. Prepare witness subpoenas and daily docket, update daily calendar and draft documents. Answer phone calls and emails from the public and law enforcement agencies. Compile local and national criminal and court records. Appear in court as victim advocate in CNS and SO Unit actions. Provide victims, family members, and witnesses information regarding all court hearings Serve as liaison between victims and prosecutors in CNS/SO actions Provide information on social service agencies to assist victims. Conduct weekly review and map sex offenders violating 1000’ rule Map and log all requests for address verification of 1000’ rule
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required; or comparable work experience Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks; reliability in attendance; effective time management skills Team Player attitude and willingness to help others; ability to accept change and redirection Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from various social, economic and educational backgrounds. Computer skills and awareness necessary to navigate through several systems - training will be provided as necessary. Confidentiality is essential. Background check required
