Summary:
Position Highlights:
The Vice President of Portfolio Strategy is a senior position, a member of the CBO cabinet, and a thought partner to the broader organization. This role is critical to the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and will oversee the design, development, establishment and, ultimately the optimization of Moffitt’s Portfolio Strategy function. In addition, this position will build a small group to drive business assessments, recommendations for investments and more broadly operate as an internal management consulting team for business opportunities and for Speros venture.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Strategy Development:
Lead the formulation and refinement of Moffitt’s portfolio strategy in alignment with overall business goals and market dynamics.
Collaborate closely with the executive team to ensure the portfolio strategy supports the company's vision and mission.
Portfolio Optimization:
Continuously assess the existing portfolio of assets (products and services) to identify opportunities for optimization, consolidation, expansion, or discontinuation.
Develop recommendations for resource allocation and investment decisions, in partnership with the Research Organization.
Market and Competitive Analysis:
Conduct in-depth market research, trend analysis, and competitive intelligence to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats in the industry.
Translate insights into actionable strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Business Case Development:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive business cases for new product and service initiatives.
Analyze financial projections, market potential, and risk factors to guide decision-making.
Strategic Partnerships:
Identify and evaluate potential strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and collaborations to enhance the company's portfolio and market positioning.
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the portfolio strategy team.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, operations, and R&D to ensure seamless execution of portfolio strategies and alignment with business goals.
Credentials and Experience
Bachelors Degree is Required.
Minimum Experience Required:
Deep experience of the biopharma industry, ideally with portfolio management positions, commercialization or marketing experience and / or corporate development roles with asset assessment responsibilities.
Preferred Experience:
Held a prior management consulting position at one of the leading consulting firms in healthcare.
