Summary
The Vice President of Human Resource Department and Payroll is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of the human resources and payroll functions of the company.
The Vice President of Human Resource Department and Payroll reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the extended leadership team.
The Vice President of Human Resource Department and Payroll leads a team of and payroll practitioners who provide services and support to approximately 300 employees across multiple locations.
The Vice President of Human Resource will lead the initiative of moving the current decentralized workforce that does multiple functions such as payroll practitioners, AP, AR and some HR generalist activities, to a common centralized workforce that has dedicated Payroll, AR, AP and HR Generalist positions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement human resources and payroll policies, procedures, and best practices that align with the company's vision, mission, values, and goals.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to human resources and payroll matters.
Manage the recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, development, performance management, compensation, benefits, and retention of the company's talent.
Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to the human resources and payroll staff and foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and innovation.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, managers, and senior leaders.
Analyze and report on human resources and payroll metrics, trends, and issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
Manage the human resources and payroll budget and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing and reporting.
Identifying Talent and ability to create development programs.
Lead and participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM, PHR, CPP) preferred.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in human resources and payroll management, with 5 years in a supervisory position, preferably in the construction or field service industry, with more than 250 employees and multiple locations.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in all aspects of human resources and payroll functions, including employment law, compensation, benefits, payroll, tax, compliance, and technology.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to think strategically, plan effectively, and execute efficiently.
Knowledge of ADP Work Force Now
Experience moving from a decentralized to a centralized organization structure is preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
