Gussie's is Hiring a Food Runner Near Raleigh, NC

Gussies is a brand spankin new neighborhood bar opening up just on the edge of downtown Raleigh and were now officially looking for other professional misfits to join the team.
What do we mean by neighborhood bar? Were an all year round, good time neighborhood bar, a new version of an old idea, the local spot where you always feel comfortable, your secret that you tell all your friends to visit when theyre in town, the place you go to see your neighbors, make new friends and enjoy a damn fine time from folks who take their bites and sips seriously but not themselves. Craft cocktails, local beer, a thoughtful wine selection and a kitchen pumping out delicious comfort food.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver the correct dishes and drinks to guests with professionalism, urgency, and accuracy
  • Possess a detailed knowledge of all food and beverage menu items and be able to communicate effectively with guests
  • Coordinate efforts together with kitchen, front of house, and management
  • Follow all safe work practices and requirements; immediately inform your supervisor if you see a hazard
  • Deliver all needed items to ensure a quality dining experience, and assist guests as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness around the restaurant and the kitchen, bus tables, and help deliver and/or breakdown dishes to be washed
  • Clear and re-set tables and bays according to established procedures
  • Stock and maintain adequate supply of ice and other needed items to all service stations
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Six months (or more) experience as a busser or runner in some aspect of the food and beverage industry preferred but not required
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, and able to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment
  • Be able to be on your feet for 8-9 hours, reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Active listening and communication skills
  • Work schedule varies and will include working on days, nights, holidays, and weekends and requires standing and/or walking for extended periods both indoors and outdoors
  • Organizational, teamwork, and multi-tasking skills a must
  • Must be at least 18 years old
SCHEDULE:
  • Evening availability Tuesday through Sunday
  • Schedule flexibility will be valued as we grow Gussies and try to expand our opening hours.
