Our mission is to engage customers and empower makers to deliver precision.Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSubject matter expert and trainer of manufacturing procedures and work instructionsLead, guide, mentor, and train Makers to ensure quality and timely production to scheduled activities within the departmentAudit compliance with standard work instructions and process control plans to ensure production of good partsIn coordination with the Supervisor, monitor and adjust workflow to facilitate timely start and completion of job operations to the ERP system master scheduleAct as a resource to ensure communication and resolution of technical issues preventing successful execution of production activities as scheduledParticipate in team efforts to maintain, update, or establish new process controls and procedures to achieve consistent resultsMonitor daily production activities regarding quality, safety, and productivity and act when deviations are identified or intervention is required to achieve the team goalsProvide input on Maker’s performance as part of the review and feedback loop and make recommendations on individual skill development plansAssist with Continuous Improvement projects and processes such as Kata walks, Quick and Easy Kaizen (QEK) program, scrap reduction, rework elimination, and increased metal removal ratesChampion the area’s 6S program and audit completion of daily checklists to maintain a safe and clean work environmentGuide Makers through machining strategies, set-ups, and first article approvals including GD&T plate checks and prequalification measurements for FAIUsing formal problem-solving tools, troubleshoot issues in real time and assist Makers with resolution or escalation in a timely manner to maintain productivityCoach and develop a team of problem solvers, focusing on prevention over detectionDemonstrate leadership capabilities and exemplify the company’s core valuesPerform other duties as assigned or requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbove average experience with standard shop tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, intra-mics, gauges) requiredPrevious experience in a high-mix precision machine shop environment requiredLean manufacturing and quality system experience preferred (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100D preferred)Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of timeAbility to use material handling equipment, including forkliftsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComputer literacy required and experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) preferredAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAdditional InformationGTC Machining, LLC offers a drug-free work place along with a competitive salary and benefits package.
