Grindr is Hiring a Technical Program Manager Near Chicago, IL

This is a hybrid role based out of Chicago or San Francisco and will require you to be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager who is passionate about building and owning processes, coordination, and helping the data and engineering teams be successful. You will have the opportunity to solve challenging problems, work with the latest systems, collaborate with a kind and capable team, and contribute meaningfully.

What’s the job?

  • Support a unique team that’s building software for millions of people while reporting to the Sr. VP of Engineering at Grindr. 
  • Manage project tracking tools to ensure the engineering org is meeting their KPIs, building clear roadmaps, and managing timelines between departments.
  • Work with engineers, data analysts, finance, and other key business stakeholders to refine scalable and efficient solutions.
  • Assist with capitalization of software development in engineering through cost management of key products such as AWS, Snowflake, etc. 
  • Ability to be collaborative, working with every department within the company cross-functionally and leading cross-functional special projects to improve overall organizational efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Document and diagram architecture, project needs, and processes.
  • Prepare your tech leaders for various speaking engagements; creating presentations and decks and occasionally presenting. 

What We’ll Love About You:

  • 4 years of related experience managing project requirements and experience supporting engineering and/or technical teams.
  • Must have strong ability in gathering data, analyzing it, and supporting the execution of data-driven decisions related to project/program defining and scoping. 
  • Strong communicator and ability to present issues in a clear and concise way. You have the strong ability to effectively communicate many points of views and opinions. 
  • Strong organizational skills are paramount. Previous experience juggling multiple projects, managing expectations, and communicating with and at an Executive level
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, etc. 
  • Comfortable working with teams across multiple time zones and offices both in-person and asynchronously
  • Experienced with vendor negotiations and contract management. You are also able to assist your leaders in budget forecasting and management of team resources 
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
