OUR IMPACT

GridStor is a rapidly growing, grid-scale energy storage developer, owner and operator backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) and led by experienced clean energy industry professionals. We acquire, develop and operate stand-alone battery storage projects in markets across North America. GridStor is based in Portland, Oregon .

Overview

Reporting to the VP of Development, you will be responsible for leading the development of GridStor’s project pipeline in the Central US. You will lead a team to successfully execute complex projects at a scale that delivers value to our partners and investors. You will play a key role in the overall strategy, direction, and execution of projects in your region. You will drive greenfield project development and work closely with the M&A team to diligence and acquire development-stage projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of storage projects from site selection through notice to proceed, coordinating closely with other teams to ensure all issues are vetted and resolved.
  • Work with market analysis, EPC, M&A, finance, and origination teams to identify the most promising locations for battery storage.
  • Develop and execute strategies for building a robust pipeline of storage projects.
  • Lead the due diligence of real estate, permitting, and other development-related aspects of potential acquisitions.
  • Contribute to the overall market strategy and execution plans for the region.
  • Manage relationships with local developers, landowners, permitting authorities, grid operators, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage development budget and schedules and junior development team members.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of prior work experience in power project development, prior battery storage experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of success in energy project development in ERCOT, SPP, and/or MISO
  • Effective problem-solving skills with an ability to gather, organize, and systematically analyze complex information, identify alternatives, and develop unique solutions from concept to execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with personnel at all levels in the organization;
  • Solid understanding of project-level financial modeling, and NPV/IRR analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
  • Integrity, humility, and respect for others
  • Flexible, creative, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and controls
  • Work remotely from the Central US or Portland, OR, headquarters. Must be willing to travel on a regular basis (up to 25%).
