Position: Director of Development
Location: Portland Opera’s Office at The World Trade Center in Portland, Oregon

The role reports to the General Director and oversees the implantation of a strategic approach to fundraising which includes major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation, and in-kind resources.
ARE YOU PASSIONATE AND INTRIGUED BY?
Managing and providing leadership to the Development Staff
Coordinating and implementing annual, project, event, planned giving and capital fundraising strategies and activities
Overseeing relationships with Major Donors and the Board of Directors including recruitment of board members, strategic planning, and leadership development
Cultivating and expanding current giving by planned gift donors and integrate planned gift objectives into major individual donor request in collaboration with the General Director
Performing ongoing fundraising research and needs assessments
Preparing department budgets
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fundraising 7 staff management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of AFP Code of Ethical Standards
Familiarity with donor database systems, Tessitura
Familiarity with prospect research and/or planned giving

Compensation Structure: This position offers an annual exempt salary wage of $95,000 dependent on experience, with the below benefits:
