We are seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for processing all benefit life event status changes and will participate in the annual benefits enrollment process. This is a great opportunity for an individual with three years of experience in benefits administration. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with employees, be a problem solver, and have a passion for benefits. This role can be remote for the right candidate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes all benefit life event status changes, including COBRA, ensuring documentation is provided and information is complete/correct.
  • Participates in the annual benefit enrollment process, including preparing/updating all benefits materials.
  • Completes weekly benefit audits confirming/updating benefit eligibility.
  • Assists with monthly benefits communications for company distribution; posts on the intranet; coordinates webinars with external vendors.
  • Maintains and updates HR intranet pages including benefits and employee resource pages and home pages of HRIS system.
  • Completes EEOC filings annually.
  • Participates in annual ACA filing.
  • Provides support for Benefits Manager including, but not limited to, employment changes, leaves of absence, and payroll changes, including timesheet approvals.
  • Will act as a backup for all employee onboarding activities.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of benefits experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits software, preferably UKG.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and context switch.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels across the organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills preferred.
