A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ORTHODONTIC DENTAL ASSISTANT
As an Orthodontic Dental Assistant, you provide patient and practice support services including, personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support. You escort patients to workstations and answer any general questions they may have. As needed, you forward patient questions or concerns to orthodontists when necessary. You help sterilize and position instruments for orthodontists as well as provide these instruments and materials to orthodontists during exams and procedures. While working, you ensure that you are always maintaining hazard control protocols established by OSHA and our office standards.
Additional duties may include assisting in scheduling patients for procedures, assisting with social media, and perform some marketing. You also help prepare and present patient or production statistics and reports. You feel good about keeping the clinical and clerical operations of our practice efficient and seamless!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ORTHODONTIC DENTAL ASSISTANT
One year of dental practice experience is preferred, but not required. Also, a diploma or certificate from an approved dental assisting program is a plus. Can you work independently and with a team? Do you manage your time well and prioritize tasks accordingly? Are you detail-oriented, flexible, and forward-thinking? Can you effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally?
