ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to help build and deliver on our documentation strategy. As Senior Tech Writer, you will be responsible for helping us create the new Gravitee end-user documentation site and experience, and creating/maintaining flawless end-user documentation. This will include, but might not be limited to, static site generation, working with Engineering to build installation documentation, creating user guides for use cases and product features, documenting new releases, and writing technical how-to tutorials.
Passion and experience in all things technical is an important part of this position- if you have strong technical or application development experience and have wanted to use your knowledge and skillset in a different way, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Your daily to-do list will feature some or all of the following, but is not limited to:

• Helping guide documentation strategy along with guidance from leadership
• Explore building new documentation sites using static site generators and docs-as-code approaches
• Working with the Engineering, SE, and Architecture teams to update and/or create clear, concise installation documentation
• Making sure all end-user documentation is up-to-date, clear, and easy to follow
• Creating new feature and how-to documentation with new releases or product changes
• Fielding and responding to needs and requests from field teams around documentation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS The right candidate will possess at least the following skills, if not more:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or other relevant field3-5 years of experience as a technical writer or developer
• Excellent technical writer and communicatorExperience with static site generation and docs-as-code approaches
• A conceptual understanding of application development, APIs, and API Management (you do not have to have practical application development experience)
• Familiarity with Markdown, Git, and Github are preferredExperience with Docker or other cloud deployment technologies
• Familiarity with (or desire to learn) screen recording and video tutorial creation
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and template engines (Jinja2 preferred) are preferred, but not required
• Programming knowledge (some experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
• Basic experience with APIs and API Management is a major leg up
