GRACE- St. John Paul II is looking for a part-time Food Service Manager for the 24-25 school year. The Food Service Manager will be responsible for providing students with quality, nutritious school meals that comply with all Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards. The Food Service Manager reports to the Food Service Director and supports all ideals and needs of the GRACE Food Service Department.

Essential Functions:

• Receive meals from vending companies, and hot hold/serve meals in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Serve and conduct accurate Point of Sale (POS) for all student and guest meals daily.
• Supervise and direct Food Service Assistant(s) as well as other kitchen personnel, and parent, guardian, family, and/or community volunteers with their predetermined daily lunchroom responsibilities.
• Record meal totals and prepare all necessary paperwork, including production records daily.
• Order supplies and call-in meal count to vending school as needed and appropriate.
• Ensure vended meals delivered match the distributed and stated menu.
• Collect, enter, and turn in all lunch payments/deposits in a timely manner.
• Complete edit checks daily, and check student lunch account balances weekly.
• Approve invoices and forward to GRACE as necessary.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all food service items (food, supplies, equipment, etc.) found within individual school sites.
• Maintain accurate Food Service Department documentation. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and Food Safety Logs, Production Records, Meal Pattern Signage, Nutrition Fact Information, CN (Child Nutrition) Labels, Product Formulation Statements (PFS Sheets), Invoice Verification.
• Oversee and follow kitchen Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) daily as well as all Food Safety, Kitchen Safety, and Kitchen Cleanliness standards daily.
• Knowledge of all Critical Control Points (CCP) required temperatures (preparation, storage, etc.)
• In accordance with USDA Professional Standards, this position requires at least 10 hours of training annually.
• Perform any other duty assigned by the Director of Food Service.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities
• Ability to work and communicate well with others
• Previous experience within a school food service department preferred
• Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 50 pounds and stand 4-7 hours per day. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
