Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Sr Systems Analyst. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate can work under General Direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Exercises analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing a system of computer programs, and developing procedures to resolve the problems. 

Responsibilities

• Under General Direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems
• Exercises analytical techniques when gathering information from users, defining work problems, designing a system of computer programs, and developing procedures to resolve the problems
• Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written
• Develops and modifies complex systems and develops subsystems to enhance the overall operational system
• Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Analyzes methods of approach
• Reviews task proposal requirements, gathers information, analyzes data, prepares project synopses, compares alternatives, prepares specifications for programs, resolves processing problems, coordinates work with programmers, and orients users to new systems
• Competent to work on routine systems analysis, but requires instruction and guidance in complex activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's with 8 years of systems analysis experience (or commensurate experience) 
• Considerable knowledge of the job
• Complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and its application
• Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
• Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives
• Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
• Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
• Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects
• Failure to obtain results would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources
• Clearance required: Public Trust

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
