Responsibilities & Duties

The Pastoral Care Manager works with the Pastoral Care Team to provide advocacy and facilitate deliverable [program] services. They serve as models for guests while sharing hope and guidance through the program experience. The Pastoral Care Manager is directly involved with providing quality services to our guests in an environment of Love, Grace, Dignity, and Respect. A Pastoral Care Manager has agreed to assist others in their program journey and help them move toward vocational economic stability and self-sufficiency. The Pastoral Care Manager oversees the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of Gospel Rescue Mission’s Pastoral Care Team.

• Warmly greet all guests, including, but not limited to, visitors, volunteers, vendors, staff, guests, donors, community groups, church groups, and public officials.
• Establish and build healthy Christ-honoring relationships with guests while maintaining professional boundaries, including guest confidentiality
• Pray with, advise, and direct the efforts of guests relating to spiritual, personal, and program needs
• Under the leadership of the Director of Program, maintain the GRM standard of excellence
• Oversee and monitor the day-to-day activities of the Program classes, ensuring quality of services, teaching and preaching, supporting denominational distinctiveness, remaining respectful of other Christian denominations
• Teach Bible and Relational Classes, including chapel as needed
• When needed, assist the Director of Program in making recommendations to develop and monitor the Pastoral Care budget
• Submit all requests to purchase equipment, supplies, gifts, etc., for Pastoral Care to the Director of Program
• Oversee and assist with thorough and timely guest records in MissionTracker, documenting services provided to guests, guest incidents, mandated reporting, guest attendance in chapel, etc.
• Oversee the tracking of guests and provide reporting on spiritual advancement, salvation, etc.
• Oversee the tracking of and provide reporting on Volunteer engagement, etc.
• Orient guests to Pastoral Care services structure, values, and standards
• In collaboration with the Director of Program, assess and develop curriculum as needed
• Continually monitoring and actively raising the standard of and developing the Pastoral Care Program and Team, improving upon classes and chapel
• Teach classes and preach at chapel services
• Recruit, develop, supervise, and provide support to volunteers
• Cultivate ongoing relationships with Pastors and churches
• Liaison and point of contact between GRM and volunteer pastor’s partnerships
• Provide for special services such as Christmas and Easter, other appropriate services, prayer times, etc.
• Coordination of guest's special events and activities
• Announce special events to staff and guests of Gospel Rescue Mission, providing a way for guests to communicate their desire to attend or make clear mandatory attendance
• Arrange for transportation, drivers, and vehicles, ensuring vehicles have sufficient fuel
• De-escalate adverse situations, both physically and emotionally, appropriately redirect or initiate other measures to control behavior by providing appropriate crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
• Lead guests in grace and accountability, holding guests accountable to the program and the Program Guidelines & Protections.
• Lead guests in the Genesis process
• Share On-call Manager responsibilities

• Provide entire leadership and supervisory support to pastoral teams, programs teams, and GRM teams
• In collaboration with the Director of Shelter Program and Director of Human Resources, manage, address, and coach team situations and responsibilities
• Uphold policy (inclusive of Vision, Mission, and Values), applying sound ethical judgment regarding behavior, conduct, and GRM practices; and escalate, manage, and report issues with transparency and accountability
• In collaboration with the Director of Human Resources and Director of the Shelter Program, participate in interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, recognition, disciplining, and termination of direct reports as necessary
• Assist the Director of Shelter Program and Executive Team as required to resolve all complaints of guests, staff, volunteers, and partner/outside agencies or entities
• Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
• Manage employees’ web-based time and attendance records
• Support and attend GRM team meetings
• Provide weekly reports as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Starting Salary: $40,000 $35,834.76
