The Vice President of Human Resources is directly responsible for the day-to-day administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities:

Onboarding:

  • Oversees onboarding process, including cultural orientation, to ensure retention of new associates.

Employee Relations:

  • Manage Corporate, Field and Restaurant employee relations issues. 
  • Investigate as needed to beneficial resolution for both the employee and the organization.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

Performance Management:

  • Identifies training needs for business units.
  • Provides guidance and input on store workforce planning and succession planning
  • Facilitate HR portion of Operations Training as needed.
  • Lead and facilitate Independent Development Plan (IDP) training.
  • Implements and annually updates the compensation program; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.

HR Compliance:

  • Review, update and maintain Employee Handbooks for corporate and restaurants.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Creates and updates position descriptions.

Engagement and Wellness Events:

  • Assist with employee events, as needed.

General Office:

  • Oversee office facility needs, seating plan design, etc.
  • Supervise departments including general, compensation, and talent acquisition.
  • Provides other assistance as requested to support the Human Resources Department as needed.
