How this Role Supports our Mission of Elevating People by Eliminating Barriers to Employment
This individual will lead project management initiatives from small to complex construction or operational initiatives. This role will be inclusive of project integration management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, communications management, risk management and procurement management, complying with legal requirements, and financial accountability. Individual will direct work efforts of internal leaders/team members, contract with project and technical professionals, or any entities necessary to meet all project objectives in the most efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages small to complex construction and renovation projects using risk criteria to identify hazards that could potentially compromise services in occupied areas of owned or leased Goodwill facilities.
  • Manage and support operational or process-driven initiatives to improve productivity, efficiencies, business development, or financial growth.
  • Coordinates design/engineering efforts and preparations of specifications for construction documents.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project.
  • Communicates directly with contractors/vendors/designers concerning project cost, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
  • Facilitates equipment and furnishings selection and procurement process.
  • Facilitates disruption avoidance for work taking place in occupied areas and communicates system shutdown needs with affected departments.
  • Schedules occupancy and manages activation process to ensure Go-Live dates are met.
  • Inspects quality and completeness of all projects.
  • Assumes responsibility as department liaison with Finance and all internal and external customers/vendors in the verification and/or processing of invoicing. Maintains, reviews, and processes all invoicing associated with on-going Goodwill projects. Tracks all project costs and maintains project cost reports.
  • Assists with budget preparation for annual and multi-year capital process.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on projects.

Education, Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related areas (Project Management, Lean, Process Improvement, Construction) preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience with progressive responsibilities in facility, project management and customer service-related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with CAD or similar design systems, Microsoft (Windows) a plus.
  • Experience with Standard AIA Contract documents.
  • Some travel (20%) is required (will fluctuate based on the project status) (within WI)
  • Effective and efficient written communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships through interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative with ability to seek innovative ways from a wide variety of individuals or team environment.
  • Takes initiative, self-starter. Ability to positively influence impact others.
  • Ability to analyze various courses of action and make recommendations.
  • Results orientated with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.

  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, including use of a computer keyboard.
  • Travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation.
