As a community-focused business, we partner with people who share our values proudly. We are seeking a part-time security guard for our property located in Far Rockaway, NY, to assist in providing the highest level of service to our residents!
Our security officers provide front entrance security, patrol buildings and parking areas to provide protection to residents, guests, and company employees. Security officers also protect the property against fires, theft, vandalism, and illegal or unauthorized entry.
****Responsibilities****
* Ensure that all building interiors, property perimeters, door locks, alarms, and entrance/exit gates are in working order and are opened and secured when necessary.
* View monitor screens and remains alert to movement on-screen for authorized and unauthorized individuals.
* Stand at the main entrance post and maintains the orderly and secure flow of individuals entering and leaving the property.
* Examine credentials or questions of visitors and contractors upon building entry and notify residents of visitors.
* Assist other internal departments as directed, including maintenance and rental departments.
* Accurately complete all necessary logs, legibly and in ink or via computer entry, to include shift logs, package logs, elevator logs, etc.
**Requirements**
* Must live within 30 minutes of the property.
* At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Available to work dayshift, afternoon shift, and overnight shift, including weekends and holidays.
* Demonstrate effective writing, oral and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
* Possess a valid and current NYS Guard License
* Have at least intermediate computer skills and familiarity with MS Office
* Must be extremely reliable and punctual.
* Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently
* Visual acuity and hearing ability to observe and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources
* Ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and/or moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting, standing for long periods of time, and handling of materials (up to 70 lbs.).
