Position Title: Security Officer - Unarmed

Office: GMSC NY Office

Site: Multiple sites throughout Midtown Manhattan

Employment Type: Full-Time & Part Time / Uniformed

GMSC secures a variety of high-profile locations throughout Manhattan. We provide Fire Life and Safety protection to these sites with an integrated approach to security systems. Our security officers are responsible for managing these systems as well as engaging with site tenants, engineers, and property management while maintaining positive relations. They also have regular engagement with NYPD detail and provide support to joint operations around site perimeters.

Job Responsibilities:

• Engaging in infrastructure protection utilizing access control systems.
• Providing world class customer service.
• Communicating effectively to tenants, engineering and cleaning teams, management and executive teams.
• De-escalation techniques as they apply to daily challenges in the workplace.
• Responding to emergencies and assist/document resolution efforts.
• Adhering to and implementing procedures for fire prevention and incident management. Engaging in necessary investigations.
• Performing other duties as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods

Additional Requirements:

• Applicants must be fully vaccinated (two weeks from the second vaccination shot) prior to appointment.

Required Qualifications:

Active NY Security License

NY Employment eligibility

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous customer service experience

Previous contract security, military, or law enforcement experience

This is a 32BJ Union job. Rates and benefits are per 32BJ’s present contract.
