The mission of the Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico is to catalyze teaching excellence by engaging community partners and inspiring educators with professional development, through our Golden Apple Award.

We are seeking a highly motivated, community-focused Executive Director to lead organizational initiatives, fundraising and daily operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will facilitate strategic and operational efficiencies of the foundation. The ideal candidate will apply trends and best practices in education, policy, advocacy, and fundraising to meet the strategic goals of the Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico. This role requires a balance of highly effective communication, fundraising experience, established relationships with local community groups and a service-focused leadership style.

Responsibilities

● Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Board President, committees, and stakeholders

● Lead and articulate organizational vision, strategy, and initiatives

● Oversee daily operations and technology of the organization, providing executive direction for programs, budget, compliance, quality assurance, etc.

● Facilitate all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, brand use, newsletters, and social media

● Facilitate aggressive annual fundraising goals, in partnership with Board of Directors, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, government funding sources, etc.

● Develop strategic partnerships to further increase community awareness, expand programs, and sustain program goals

● Lead planning, coordination, and execution of the organization's annual Tribute event from inception to completion including, but not limited to, all logistical aspects of the event, venue selection, catering, transportation, audiovisual requirements, and ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are obtained.

● Manage printed and digital documentation, communication, contracts, fiscal documents, grant summary reports, etc.

● Enhance a culture of inclusivity, building relationships with stakeholders, whose experiences, cultures, and languages reflect the communities served by Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico

Required skills and qualifications

● Seven or more years of experience in organization leadership or management, preferably with nonprofit organizations

● Strong experience in community relations, marketing, and fundraising

● Knowledge of leadership and management principles for nonprofit organizations

● Proven success working with a Board of Directors

● Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning

● Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an organization

Preferred skills and qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, human resources, or finance

● Experience managing budgets

● Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
