TITLE: Business Unit Strategic Partner - HybridSTATUS: ExemptREPORTS TO: Director - Strategic Planning & PerformanceDEPARTMENT: Corporate StrategyJOB CODE: 11323PAY SCALE: $98,600.00 - $110,000.00 ANNUALLY The Business Unit Strategic Partner is a central role and leader in the Business Unit strategic planning and performance management process in alignment with the Credit Union’s overarching Strategic Plan. This individual will facilitate strategic planning sessions with assigned Business Units to develop, document, and continually evolve strategies and tactics that are critical to the achievement of key outcomes. Additionally, this individual will play a critical role in ensuring that strategic priorities are aligned, identifying connections, weaknesses, and opportunities to deliver the best outcomes for the Credit Union. They will act as an integrated partner in delivering on efforts to execute on complex projects and programs. This individual must have a strong working knowledge of all functional areas of the Credit Union, with expertise in the assigned Business Units to enable them to effectively partner with senior leadership. This role requires proactive identification and communication of relevant information with an ability to offer feasible, competitive, and innovative solutions that enable strong Business Unit performance in alignment with the Credit Union’s overarching Strategic Plan.TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:Build and maintain strong relationship with key stakeholders, functional teams, and vendors to successfully execute on complex strategies.Actively collaborate with senior leaders and executives on building and maintaining strategic roadmaps, along with ongoing outward reporting to communicate strategic progress.Collaborate with assigned Business Units to facilitate an effective initiative planning process that complements the financial planning process. Support the strategic planning process, including partnering with assigned Business Units to develop materials necessary to facilitate management and Board strategic planning activities (Board Educational Session, Board and/or Management Strategic Planning Session, etc.). Assist with the development of the three-year Corporate Strategic Plan as needed. Ensure the ongoing advancement of performance reporting to ensure Business Unit performance is accurately captured and reported timely. Support aligned performance management framework that effectively captures Business Unit performance relative to strategic goals, objectives, measurements, KPIs, and focus areas. Support senior leadership in the tracking, analysis, and communication of all strategic performance measures and progress towards Corporate Strategic Plan.Responsible for supporting corporate development activities as necessary, including competitive analysis related to products, services, and positioning within key markets.Proactively identify opportunities to leverage the Credit Union’s competitive advantage to drive growth and build financial strength and security. Conduct research and communicate findings to inform strategic business decisions. Lead strategic initiatives as requested by senior leadership. Provide ongoing reporting of Business Unit level performance, including observed operational and/or service deficiencies, and progress on resolution on key issues, problems, challenges, etc. to ensure organizational excellence. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to Credit Union compliance. PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:Effective oral and written communication skills required Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:INTERNAL: Executives, Management Group, and other key staff. EXTERNAL: Vendors and Credit Union peers QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.EXPERIENCE: At least 7 years of progressive experience with strategic planning, business development, product development, and/or program management within the financial services industry. Proven success in developing and implementing complex processes and programs. A strong understanding of how a financial institution operates is required, with a greater emphasis of knowledge in assigned Business Units.KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:Strong presence and strategic judgment. Excellent communication, team facilitation, and presentation skills for an executive level audienceExperienced in creating strategic roadmaps and providing strategic progress reporting at an executive and board level.Proven ability to provide strategic recommendations based on insights, aligning planning, and forecasting into actionable strategy to drive results.Experience in preparing Board level reporting. Ability to present ideas and concepts and work persuasively with colleagues. Highly analytical and skilled in problem-solving. Strong organizational and planning skills. Knowledgeable about the principles of finance, lending theory, industry practice, and Golden 1’s policies. General and business knowledge equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. Corrected vision within the normal range. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc. Minimal travel by car and/or public conveyance for trips to offsite and out-of-area locations.
