Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Your expertise in quality management, supplier management, and contract negotiation will be crucial in optimizing our procurement operations.
Duties:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational objectives
- Source and procure goods and services from qualified suppliers
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and contract negotiations
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels
- Implement category management strategies to drive cost savings and improve efficiency
- Oversee the contract management process, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures
- Familiarity with quality management systems in procurement
- Demonstrated ability to source and evaluate suppliers effectively
- Proficiency in contract management and negotiation
- Knowledge of federal regulations related to procurement (e.g., Federal Acquisition Regulations)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
