  • Compensation - We support transparency, equity, and fairness in our compensation programs and provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range, based on data-driven market analysis, for each job posting. While it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role in Washington, DC (Headquarters) is $217,000 - $340,000. Team members may also be eligible for performance-based discretionary awards.
  • Hybrid work option - Staff will be assigned to the Washington, DC (Headquarters) office. Staff can choose to live and work from anywhere within the United States but will be required to commute to their assigned office or location for occasional intentional gatherings or meetings at the frequency required by their supervisor. Travel to an assigned office or location for commuting purposes will not be considered reimbursable business travel, unless otherwise required by state law. Business travel is reimbursable in an amount not exceeding the cost to travel from the assigned office or location, unless otherwise required by state law.
  • Generous paid time off - Up to 6 weeks annually, in addition to 12 federal holidays, 2 floating holidays, and a year-end break from December 25 -31, 2024

Role Summary
The PCAOB has a full-time, regular position for a Chief of Staff, Office of Data, Security and Technology. The Office of Data, Security, and Technology (ODST) is responsible for the strategic planning and provisioning of technology products and services to the PCAOB. Enterprise Architecture function sets the Board's technology strategy in support of business line product strategies, optimizes how users experience technology, and aligns it to the needs of the business through continuous innovation, technical governance, and hands-on delivery leadership.
The Chief of Staff, Office of Data, Security, and Technology will provide management and operational support to the PCAOB's Chief Information Officer in support of the PCAOB's mission and the Board's priorities. This support will include developing and maintaining work products that support management decision making, strategy development, initiative definition, action tracking and monitoring, and meeting planning and execution. This role will manage and coordinate the IT governance process. It will require a candidate skilled at interfacing, communicating, and collaborating with all levels of employees and leadership across the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Support the CIO in dealing with a range of strategic and policy initiatives; manage the flow of information; and directly handle matters of organizational importance in consultation with the CIO.
  • Promote a positive, constructive tone at the top and throughout the organization and advance a culture that is results-oriented, collaborative, mission-driven, and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective and collaborative communication and execution across the IT organization.
  • Own and coordinate the IT investment governance process.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and tracking mechanism to support performance management and continuous improvement; own and coordinate performance metrics and measures reporting to include SLAs, OKRs, and other organizational metrics.
  • Prepare and/or coordinate agendas, reposts, and other CIO meeting material and maintain associated meeting calendars and invites.
  • Coordinate action and task assignment to responsible parties and establish completion dates.
  • Track actions and tasks to timely closure; assist and escalate as needed when task owners fail to achieve timely closure, including communications, data calls, and status reporting.
  • Develop planning artifacts including but not limited to statements of work, charters, schedules, and Gantt charts.
  • Develop executive level status and summary briefings.
  • Create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute preparatory material with sufficient time to ensure participants are prepared to support meeting and workshop objectives.
  • Facilitate meeting execution; for meetings and workshops of sufficient size and complexity to warrant addition facilitation support, prepare work scope, and effort estimates.
  • Document meeting outcomes including actions, decisions, agreements, assumptions, and relevant discussion points; coordinate publication of meeting results consistent with meeting goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate development and refinement of administrative and operational processes as needed to aid in improving effectiveness and productivity in delivering on office objectives.
  • Identify and track to closure audit requirements for which the office must be compliant (included financial and internal controls requirements); maintain the technology risk register for operational and investment project and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Technical Expertise
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years' of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Ability to execute effectively in an agile environment and communicate effectively to audiences across functional disciplines and at the most senior levels of the organization.
  • Mastery of management tools including MS Office suite, dashboarding and reporting tools and various meeting and presentation technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and tasks, and deliver high quality and timely results and work products.
  • Ability to assess urgent work assignments, quickly determine optimal courses of action, and manage actions to timely conclusion.
  • Intellectually curious and nimble with the demonstrated ability to learn, synthesize, and apply a range of information and experience quickly in new situations and setting.
  • In-depth experience successfully harmonizing diverse and competing interests.
  • Ability to clearly articulate a position with sound logic, supporting empirical evidence, and impartiality.
  • Ability to effectively represent the organization to a variety of both internal and external constituencies.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent experience with digital transformation and leading innovation.
  • Highly preferred experience and skills in project management, operational management, strategy development and planning, communication, and executive decision support.
