Georgia Health Initiative is Hiring an Administrative Assistant Near Atlanta, GA

Description

Reports to: President and CEO

Department: Office of the CEO

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Georgia Health Initiative is working toward a Georgia in which all people have the opportunity to attain their fullest potential for health. Building on a solid foundation of two decades of community partnership, our new strategic framework sets forth an exciting opportunity to bring energy, movement, and drive to the great work already happening around health equity in our state, as well as to new ideas and approaches that we can co-create with our partners. 

The Administrative Assistant will be primarily responsible for supporting Georgia Health Initiative’s President/CEO. The Assistant will manage the CEO’s schedule, anticipate and render assistance when needed, and complete tasks critical to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role requires strong communication skills, organization, discretion and sensitivity to confidential information, and the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities. This position is a part-time role, with an anticipated schedule of 20-25 hours per week onsite in Atlanta, Georgia.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage the CEO’s calendar, prioritizing appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements. Ensure the CEO’s time is optimized for maximum efficiency and productivity. 
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the CEO, screening phone calls and inquiries. Draft clear and concise correspondence on the CEO’s behalf. 
  • Ensure smooth running of the CEO’s office. This may include expense tracking, managing office supplies, and coordinating with other departments. 
  • Assist the CEO with various projects and initiatives. This may include assistance with document preparation, including formatting, copyediting, and minimal desk research.
  • Maintain the necessary level of confidentiality regarding all CEO communications and business matters. 
  • Support other members of the leadership team on a project-by-project basis.

Education and Experience 

  • Committed to and passionate about Georgia Health Initiative’s mission to inspire and promote collective action that advances health equity for all Georgians.
  • Minimum of three years of experience that demonstrates potential to fulfill responsibilities of the position.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to prioritize and handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism. 
  • Self-motivated, comfortable balancing multiple priorities and workstreams, remaining flexible and adaptive as project needs change. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

The Administrative Assistant is a part-time role, with an anticipated schedule of 20-25 hours per week during regular business hours. Given the part-time nature of this role and the need to ensure meeting of organizational needs, it is anticipated that the Administrative Assistant’s specific schedule – including determining hours worked from home and hours in the office – will be discussed and negotiated as part of the hiring process.

Compensation 

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $28 and $30 per hour. Offers are based on the candidate’s years of experience and the Initiative’s commitment to salary equity. The candidate will also be eligible for the Initiative’s generous, comprehensive benefits package.
