Role Overview

Genus / PIC has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a strategic Sr. Global Human Resources Director, who will report to the CHRO and partner with the PIC Chief Operations Officer, Executive Group/Corporate Function leads and senior leaders to implement global Human Resources strategies across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America. The role is responsible for partnering with global business leaders to deliver the strategy, budget, and implementation of the Genus Global People strategy encompassing global HR policies, processes, systems, and programs within the Genus-owned PIC (Pig Improvement Company) and Genus plc Group/Corporate functions. The position works as part of the PIC and Group/Corporate function leadership teams supporting Global PIC and Group/Corporate functions across 4 regions. The successful candidate will build strong working relationships, partner and engage with senior leaders and diverse employees across a wide number of business functions. This role requires a hands-on, pragmatic, commercial person who can “get things done”. The successful candidate is customer-focused, has a global mindset, and can analyze data and information to arrive at win/win solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Report to the CHRO and serve as a member of the global leadership team for Human Resources, PIC, and Group Executive Teams, and support the executives and leaders of the assigned business and functional units as a trusted adviser and ambassador for the organization’s corporate values and mission.• Support the business leaders in executing business plans through people and work to build capabilities and bench strength of the internal organization. • Lead the execution of the Global People Strategy and ensure continuity of delivery across the global PIC Business and Global Group Functions by working closely with regional HR Directors and Managers• Contribute to the development of people policies that promote equality & diversity, L&D, and talent management initiatives.• Coach and lead functional leaders to own and become accountable for the people agenda.• Develop high-performing teams in HR and the business by engaging, coaching, and developing team members by driving accountability and ownership at all levels. • Partner and collaborate with COEs, HRSS, and HR teams to identify and meet the needs of the business; identify areas of improvement compliant with rules and policies in accordance with local legal jurisdiction. • Help global leadership teams and line managers to role model the culture of the company in the work that they are doing with all stakeholders.• Seek to understand and learn the Genus PIC and Group functions business activities strategies both commercially and culturally.• Build a team where all leaders are top talent, with a strong say/do and continuous improvement mindset. • Drive full utilization of HR systems, processes, and reporting of key metrics to inform business decisions and influence decision-making through data and people trends.• Support the company’s people strategy by identifying areas for continuous improvement to attract, develop, and retain top talent. • Collaborate with leadership to create workforce and succession plans.• Utilize Power BI reporting to monitor and evaluate turnover, DEI, employee survey results, and other HR data to recommend initiatives and changes to improve culture, retention, employee engagement, satisfaction, and morale.• Monitor and manage employees’ satisfaction, and develop, align, and set the tone for engaging with all employees directly and indirectly.• Steer PIC, Group/Corporate, and HR planning and controlling - including budget.• Develop, foster, and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and employees.• Maintain employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of morale.• Ensure that world-class environmental health and safety work processes and results are in place and consistently utilized.• Uphold the Genus core values, mission, and vision.• Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours.• Performs other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 10 years of human resources experience; additional years of related experience may offset education.
  • 10 plus years of progressive experience in human resources to include:
  • Demonstrated HR business partnering experience, in a pragmatic, grounded organization, encompassing a broad set of responsibilities in a multi-site global company.
    • Proven leadership in managing and developing globally diverse HR teams.
    • Previous change management experience.
    • Demonstrated track record of delivering results with a matrixed global organization.
    • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
    • Functional experience as an HR business partner plus one or more additional HR disciplines.
  • Proven in executing and delivering recruitment, talent, performance management, and reward activities with the ability to deliver pragmatic solutions that meet business needs.
    • Experience working with all levels from executive level, and professional leaders to entry-level roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
