Greets patients and visitors in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner. Monitors functioning of waiting area and coordinates patient movement. Seeks out appropriate answers to patient or visitor questions, and reports questions, problems, or irregularities to appropriate personnel.
Completes patient check-in process and verifies accuracy of all necessary personal and medical information, including insurance verification.
Collects co- payments, records, and balances daily receipts
Effectively utilizes systems available including (but not limited to) Medent, Medent or other Kiosks, Microsoft Outlook, Healthenet, credit card site, etc. Adherence to all applicable HIPAA, federal and state regulations.
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting required
- Proficiency in using phone systems and office equipment
- Knowledge of Medent or similar practice management software is desired
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and providers
- Strong organizational abilities to manage appointments, records, and administrative tasks effectively
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
