Gas Express LLC is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Atlanta, GA

Description

Summary: The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance

department. This position ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and

entering transactions and creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The Senior Accountant has

some direct supervisory responsibilities and serves as a coach and mentor for the staff accountant role.

Essential Sales Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Analyzes accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to accounting principles and standards.
  •  Works with the controller on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization.
  •  Reviews records of all accounts to ensure accuracy.
  •  Assists in creating forms and manuals for accounting personnel.
  •  Annual 1099 preparation.
  •  Reconcile and maintain general ledger account schedules.
  •  Enter and reconcile bank transactions.
  •  Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  •  Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
  •  Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
  •  Producing error-free accounting reports and present their results.
  •  Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status.
  •  Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts and preparing a trial balance.
  •  Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
  •  Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
  •  Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  •  Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Salary: Starting 95,000.00

Salary negotiable dependent upon experience. 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Prerequisites

  •  Previous Experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor Preferred
  •  Previous Accounting Personnel Supervisory Experience Preferred
  •  Compliance and Thorough Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  •  Understanding of the Statements of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) Rules
  •  Research and Analyzation Skills, Collaboration Skills, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Confidentiality
  •  Corporate Finance, Financial Software, General/Advanced Math/Quantitative Skills
  •  Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  •  Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Similar Programs.
  •  Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
  •  The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product.
  •  The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
  •  Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
  •  Retail Accounting Experience Preferred
  •  Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting. MS Dynamics Great Plains Experience Preferred
  •  BS Degree in Accounting/Finance Required

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full time salaried position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday with an occasional

request to work on Saturday and is for a 50 hour work week.
