SUMMARY:
The Front Desk Attendant greets customers and verifies residency for gym access.Assists with performing opening and closing procedures of fitness facility and assisting or directing residents and visitors to the gym.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Front Desk Attendant’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
·Provides excellent customer service and checks-in guests to the gym, lap pool and tanning bed.
·Opens and closes fitness facility as scheduled.
·Offers assistance to residents and visitors in understanding use of fitness equipment.
·Supervises the proper use and storage of fitness equipment by residents / visitors (dropping weights, re-racking weights, appropriate use of facility).
·Explains and enforces gym rules i.e. requiring towels, enforcing no outside training policies, etc.
·Collaborates with group instructors and assist residents with signing in or signing up for group classes.
·Report cleanliness/janitorial issues to gym director or management staff immediately.
·Assist director in keeping equipment clean and orderly.
·Maintains audio equipment at an appropriate level / appropriate music genre.
·Must wear provided uniform and maintain a strong gym presence throughout the shift.
·Vacation / time off coverage of facility as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
·1 to 2 years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent of education and experience in the fitness or customer service industry.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
·To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic Microsoft Office Suite.
·CPR/ First Aid Certification is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
·Must be able to lift, push, pull, and/ or move up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, squat, open doors, climb/ descend stairs.
COMMUNICATIONS:
·Must be able to communicate effectively (orally and written) in a professional manner on a regular basis with management and co-workers within the company as well as residents and outside vendors. Works well as part of a team. Follows instructions and responds to management’s direction. Takes constructive criticism and uses it as a learning tool.

·Is reliable and consistently at work and on time; willing to travel, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
TRAVEL
·Travel may be required within the Southern California and Arizona Region.

Pay range: $17-$22.64/hr
