CMS has an opening for a Human Resource Specialist position. This position is onsite in Santa Rosa.
We are looking for an individual that is an experienced HR Generalist. To be successful in this role you should have knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws, be able to investigate and resolve issues and ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Benefits of the HR Generalist position:
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 1 hour lunch.
  • Pay: $30 – 37.50 per hour dependent upon ability to perform the listed duties and prior experience. (The HR Generalist position has a pay scale that consists of the following elements and ranges. Wages include base hourly compensation of between 30 and 37.50)
  • Health/Dental/Vision (premiums PAID 100% for the employee) – Plus COPAY Visa!

Responsibilities of the HR Generalist position:
  • Process and maintain new hire packets to ensure the best onboarding experience for employees.
  • Ensure timely processing of terminations in compliance with the local, state, and federal laws.
  • Assist managers with employee performance issues.
  • Review, track, and document mandatory training, and work assessments.
  • Document and maintain employee files.
  • Perform routine tasks, including but not limited to: compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; and disputes and investigations.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Director of People.
Job Requirements of the HR Generalist position:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required; bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a human resource position.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Propensity toward acting with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
