GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works collaboratively with the General Manager and Optometrist in Charge to ensure each patient receives the best possible care, and the office achieves productivity and performance goals. Works collaboratively with the Department of Ophthalmology to ensure the seamless delivery of eye care to all patients. Supports professional staffing and office coverage needs and ancillary staff training.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Primary eye care

oOcular health evaluation

oEye glass prescriptions

oContact lens prescriptions and care

oManagement of eye disease

·Work with General Manager and Director of Clinical Services to maintain proper professional staffing and coverage within the clinic.

·Professional growth and compliance with continuing education requirements to maintain licensure

·Support ancillary staff training programs

·Support practice building programs.

oDevelop and support new relationships with Henry Ford Medical Centers, ERs, and other system entities.

oDevelop and support new relationships with non-Henry Ford entities if possible including pharmacies, nursing homes, etc.

oMaintain existing relationships with key individuals.

·Attend regularly scheduled office and staff meetings

·Act as a role model for other staff

·Embrace best practices to ensure that we are providing the highest possible level of professional care.
