FTS is Hiring a Payroll Manager Near Grapevine, TX

Position Overview:
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll function, including processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of payroll processes, tax laws, and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including collecting and verifying timesheet data, calculating wages, deductions, and overtime, and processing payroll transactions accurately and on time. Utilize payroll software/systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including wage and hour laws, payroll tax filings, and reporting requirements. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to payroll processes.
  • Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings. Prepare and distribute payroll reports, statements, and reconciliations as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Benefits Administration: Coordinate with HR and benefits administration teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary deductions. Verify benefit eligibility, enrollment, and deductions in payroll systems.
  • Audits and Reviews: Conduct periodic audits and reviews of payroll data, processes, and procedures to identify discrepancies, errors, and inefficiencies. Implement corrective actions and process improvements to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external payroll service providers, tax agencies, and other vendors to facilitate payroll processing, tax filings, and related services. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, issues, and concerns from employees. Provide guidance, support, and resolution to ensure a positive employee experience and timely resolution of payroll-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in payroll administration.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax laws, and regulations, with experience in multi-state payroll and compliance.
  • Proficiency in payroll software/systems, such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms. Experience with SAP, Workday, or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex payroll data, identify trends, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
