Description

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Assistant reports to the HR Manager and provides customer service to applicants, employees and the public. It supports the HR Manager in various areas of Human Resources such as recruiting, employee relations, benefits and more. This job is not a remote position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As Human Resources Assistant, the ultimate mission is to provide support to the HR Manager in being able to provide outstanding customer service that supports Freres Engineered Wood’s Company vision. 

· Assists the HR Manager to administer key components of Freres Engineered Wood’s onboarding process in support of high-volume hiring initiatives ensuring a fulfilling new hire experience, including Recruiting, Screening, Interviewing, Hiring, Affirmative Action Plan, etc. 

· Coordinates orientation sessions for new employees. 

· Performs and/or supports others on-boarding orientations including coordination with new employees.

· Works with the HR Manager in maintaining proper employee records.

· Promotes Freres Engineered Wood’s policies. 

· Must have computer skills to work in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and be capable of becoming proficient in the company’s HRIS system. 

· Covers the main office, including answering the main phone lines, assisting people entering the main office, etc. 

· Excellent team player with good communication skills. 

· Strong time management skills. 

Documents all activities, situations and issues which are required to be recorded in a timely manner. 

 OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES 

 Responsibilities are not limited to the above-mentioned and may include assisting other branches within reasonable and related tasks.

Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 Standing or sitting for prolonged periods-of-time

Standing, Walking, Sitting, Lifting, Carrying, Balancing, Stooping, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Communicating, Acuity-Far, Acuity-Near, Depth Perception, and Field of Vision.

Must be able to work in an office environment.

Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, and/or squat frequently.

Frequent reaching, handling, carrying and balancing.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required and some college preferred

5 yrs of related work experience or equivalent HR certifications/education

Proven leadership skills

· Good analytical, problem-solving skills, computer and math skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills

· Positive and Excellent Interpersonal and Customer Service skills

· Time management skills

· Must be flexible and adaptable to changing roles and responsibilities.

· Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage efficiently and effectively.

· Computer literacy in commonly used business software products such as spreadsheets, word processing and

database management, particularly Having experience with Microsoft Office 365.

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, plant management and customers
