Summary
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for aspects of data management services within the enterprise including data architecture, data lake development, data warehousing, in-memory data platforms, metadata management, data science, enterprise integration, database design and modeling. Must design, develop, deploy, maintain, enhance, and execute business socialization of the data management of data warehouse, Big Data platforms and data integration strategies, while managing and delivering strategic information that enables effective business analytics to enhance business operations
- Collaborate with business and IT leaders to promote effective governance and utilization of data as well as tools for analytics and visualization relevant to business needs.
- Develop and maintain strategy and an actionable roadmap for continuously enhancing Enterprise Data Platforms that can both serve and adapt to changing Business needs.
- Architect and build data and modeling pipelines for research and production with data engineering best practices, quality, transparency and scalability.
- Collaborate with several areas such as the Application System Teams and Infrastructure Teams to keep EDW/BI Systems in sync with Application Systems and infrastructure.
- Direct the modernization of analytic capabilities, processes, and practices for the company.
- A track record of successfully leading and nurturing a data science team while reinforcing tech best practices and fostering a culture of excellence
- Manage all development and analysis of logistics projects and design of enterprise efficiency and modeling software for management decision making by using statistical data analysis and predictive modeling
- Build and expand AI presence at Freeman, and work closely with our cloud providers in Microsoft, AWS, GCP and identify unique AI & Data Science opportunities
- Build a long-term strategy for AI adoption, develop a trusted advisor relationship at Freeman
- Develop a new enterprise data strategy, including global platform architecture, enterprise services organization and direct guidance to the business requirements, algorithmic and data science strategy, self-service, and business unit resourcing requirements.
- Partner with key team members and cross-functional stakeholders to define/refine multi-year data plan to strengthen measurable competitive advantage utilizing Data and Analytics
- Participate in strategic planning and the development of company business objectives in conjunction with other senior leaders.
- Create partnerships and vendor relationships to leverage third-party development and improve customer reach.
- Implement and Test emerging data science and AI techniques and resources, syndicating learnings to the broader organization for deployment. Ensure data quality and security across the organization, including external data sources
Education & Experience
- 10 years of Tech Industry experience and have prior experience leading data and engineering groups
- You love people management, technology and setting the vision for an engineering organization
- You have experience developing and coaching team members and are ready to build out a mature engineering organization
- You have brought a novel technology to commercial scale and been a leader on rapidly growing team(s) tackling hard technical challenges
- Experience with a breadth of Data Integration tools, Databases, Big Data Platforms, Cloud based data platforms and Data Streaming technologies, Cloud Azure and AWS platforms
- Strong understanding of Data Architecture and most importantly deep understanding of the overall Data in an enterprise and ability to understand Data in the context of Business goals
- Expert/Advanced level experience with ETL technologies, Data Streaming using integration patterns like Kafka, Spark Streaming
- Understanding and experience with key platform technologies including APIs & Management, Platform Services, and Persistent Storage for Analytics and Applications
- Experience with Search data platforms is a plus
- Experience in building from the ground up a modern next generation data warehouse platform
- Agile delivery frameworks and strategies; Agile leadership, Architecture (in progress), Product Manager, and Scrum Master certifications are plus
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Large organizational management; Road mapping, organizational structures (staffing and budget), people leadership for coaching and mentoring
