This position will serve as the Secretary to the Environmental Health Unit of the Health Department. This position: greets and responds to inquiries from the public, receives and processes monies for inspections & water samples (etc.); enters and manages inspection data in two software programs: provides support for the overall delivery of EH programs and is responsible for monthly reporting of EH activities. Significant knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods and practices; significant knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and office terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, reports and other materials; ability to apply sentence and grammatical structure to independently compose and format materials within established guidelines; ability to record, compile, summarizes and perform basic analyses of narrative and numerical materials; ability to learn and independently apply laws, departmental rules and regulations; ability to use courtesy and tact in performing public contact and communication duties that may be sensitive in nature. Desirable Education and Experience
Completion of high school and three years of related experience; or graduation from a two-year secretarial science or business administration program with courses in secretarial techniques and practices and two years of related work experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with major emphasis on business administration or a related field and two years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Hepatitis B series: Either evidence of 3 doses; signed declination form or lab evidence of immunity Evidence of Tdap vaccine Evidence of varicella immunity: You must have documentation of two doses of varicella given at least 28 days apart or a history of varicella or herpes zoster based on physician diagnosis or laboratory evidence of immunity or laboratory confirmation of disease. If working in the lab, must have documented proof of one dose of meningococcal vaccine.
