Senior Program Evaluator (Temp) The Fund for Public Health in New York City, (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City. PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Bureau of Equitable Health Systems (BEHS) is a bureau in the Division for Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) located at 42-09 28th Street, Long Island City, NY. Our division is devoted to strengthening the Department’s ability to strategically partner with the NYC health care system to ensure equitable access to and delivery of healthcare and social services to NYC residents. The Primary Care unit within BEHS operates NYC REACH, our provider-facing arm that works with over 2,000 primary care practices, covering over 2 million lives, in underserved neighborhoods in NYC to improve the quality of health care delivery by including value-based care principles, increasing clinical prevention opportunities through implementation of quality improvement initiatives and promoting health by creating opportunities where health care can influence and connect consumers to social support to address the whole person. To find out more about NYC REACH, visit www.nycreach.orgPOSITION OVERVIEWThe Senior Program Evaluator will lead the development of several program evaluation deliverables for a newly awarded grant from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that aims to improve hypertension control and reduce disparities among populations and communities disproportionately impacted by institutional racism and poverty. A successful applicant will have strong program evaluation, analytic, and project management skills. This position reports to the Executive Director, Program Evaluation and Planning. RESPONSIBILITIESCompile a database or repository of community-level social determinants of health indicators to be used in a dashboard that aims to help primary care providers understand and address their patients’ health-related social needs.Collaborate with health informatics staff to design a primary care provider-facing dashboard that characterizes the social determinants of health among community’s representative of their patient populations.Develop data collection instruments (e.g., assessments, post-training surveys) for an evaluation of the Healthy Hearts Ambassador program. Draft and manage the submission of the grant IRB protocol.Create data summaries, presentations, reports, and visualizations and present to bureau, divisional and agency leadership, as needed.QUALIFICATIONSGraduate degree in public health, social science, health science, or related fieldMinimum 5 years of applied experience in public health program evaluation or researchExperience using evaluation frameworks and conceptual models to inform evaluation planning.Strong qualitative research methods and analysis skillsExceptional writing skills with a track record in publications, grant writing, and/or grant reportingExperience with survey methodology and developing surveys for community and healthcare settings.Excellent project management skills Proficiency with Atlas.ti, NVivo, or similar software for qualitative data analysisProficiency with SAS, R, or similar software for quantitative data analysisInterest in and knowledge of quality improvement in clinical settings, health equity, chronic disease management and prevention, and/or birth equitySALARYThis is a full-time temporary position through June 30, 2024, with an hourly salary of $46.50 per hour. SCHEDULEMonday – Friday9:00 am – 5:00 pmRemote TO APPLYTo apply, send resume, with cover letter, including salary requested and how your experience relates to this position here.
