We are seeking a skilled and dedicated temporary Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and assisting with patient care in a medical office setting.
***This would be a TEMPORARY position with possibility of permanent, to cover a position of an employee going on maternity leave.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and verify insurance coverage
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies
- Perform basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs and administering medications under the direction of healthcare providers

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments as needed
- Manage medical records, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
Administrative Skills:
- Proficient in medical scheduling software such as Dentrix or eClinicalWorks
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Patient Service Skills:
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and staff members
- Empathy and compassion when interacting with patients in various medical situations
Medical Skills:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for managing patient information
Experience as a Medical Receptionist is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and excellent interpersonal skills.
