JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef/Food Service Manager to join our team. As the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory control, and staff management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality. You will fill a vital role by directing and supervising all aspects of food service for a restaurant establishment with a robust takeout, delivery and catering operations. This role involves managing staff, ensuring high-quality food production, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, optimizing customer satisfaction and ensuring the positive reputation of the brand. The Chef Manager is responsible for coordinating kitchen activities, monitoring inventory levels, and implementing effective cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute creative and innovative service ideas for various dining options, including banquets and special events
- Ensure all food preparation meets high-quality standards and complies with health and safety regulations
- Manage staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
- Manage front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the back and front of the house
- Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or ingredients into menu offerings
- Handle customer inquiries or concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Foster a positive work environment and provide guidance and support as needed
- Implement an inventory management systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Support the marketing lead in any promotional and marketing initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets to achieve revenue targets and profit goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive experience in banquet or restaurant management within the food industry
- 5-7 years experience of strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure and lead a cohesive team, while successfully managing a culinary budget and aggressively monitoring labor, scheduling and overtime to ensure maximum productivity and guest satisfaction
- Ensures that all employees maximize efficiency and productivity in order to achieve total guest satisfaction while actively reviewing and evaluating daily guest feedback.
- Knowledge of bartending techniques and beverage pairing is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, and vendors
- Must foster an educational environment to develop all staff for future advancement
- Proficiency in inventory management, financial analysis and cost management strategies
- Proficiency in computer skills
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred. --- - Relevant certifications in food safety and management are advantageous.
