Position Purpose:

We are looking for a Marketing Manager who will lead a team and bring their business background to understand market trends in the process control and industrial measuring instrumentation industry and proactively create/refine marketing materials as they partner with the Sales team. For over 50 years, FCI has been a privately held company where everyone supports one another in an atmosphere of comradery and teamwork, with the opportunity to continually learn and take your skills to the next level. This role is a manager of people and is an on-site opportunity.

Essential Job Functions (primary duties and outputs of position):

Within 60 days and ongoing:

  • Begins conducting competitive research, analysis and forecasting of product demand and industry trends, and has knowledge of external resources for such information.
  • Has conducted individual research and interviewed sales team on top targeted applications within each major target vertical including typical measurements made, top customer pain points, and customer delighters.
  • Ensures distribution of sales leads to responsible sales channels.

By 3 months and ongoing:

  • Can perform competitive research, analysis and forecasting and can present findings to CEO and executive staff as required.
  • Ensures marketing objectives are being met and remain in alignment with company objectives.
  • Manages marketing department expenses that are within budget.
  • Leads production of quality sales collateral including brochures, data sheets, ordering guides, price lists, application notes, articles, and customer case studies.

By 6 months and ongoing:

  • Stays ahead of industry's developments and applies best practices to areas of improvement.
  • Independently plans, develops and ensures implementation of all strategic and tactical marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Tracks relevant metrics (sales lead generation, website visitors, SEO data, market share, product line P&L’s etc.) and initiates improvement plans.
  • Direct reports are hitting their goals and supporting Marketing initiatives, enabling the Marketing Manager to take on other duties.

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in managing marketing and/or product managers/engineers in a technical B2B environment required
  • 5 years’ experience directly managing teams of varying sizes required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a technical minor in Science: Chemistry, Biology, Physics highly preferred. A concentration in Marketing or Engineering a plus
  • Master’s of Business Administration degree a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of B2B Communications, industry media, and presenting at trade shows required
  • Strong business acumen with thorough understanding of product line and business Profit & Loss’s, ratios and metrics required
  • International experience is a huge plus
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with working knowledge of statistical process control, lean, PDCA, DFM, critical path and other techniques required

  • Follow safe work practices, participate in safety training as required, and report any unsafe condition or accident.

Quality

  • Employees are responsible to understand and support the quality policy and the appropriate elements of the quality management system for their areas of work, reduce, eliminate, and prevent quality deficiencies including escapes.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to product, process, and quality system.
  • All employees have the responsibility and authority to identify quality deficiencies, elevate any concerns for action within or related to our quality system and processes.

Communication

  • Excellent English skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Maintain effective and constructive working relationships with others both internally and externally.

Physical/Travel Requirements:

This position requires sitting and computer work for at least 75% of the time. Standing and walking are required up to 25% of the time and infrequent lifting to a maximum of 35 lbs. Some travel may be required and therefore must possess a valid driver's license.

Pay Range: $119,000.00 to $145,000.00 annual

Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
