As the Food Service Manager of our cafeteria, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning. You will lead a team of dedicated professionals, foster a positive work environment, and uphold our commitment to delivering excellent customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of cafeteria operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of cafeteria operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness, while adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, consistency, and quality.
  • Monitor and control costs, including food and labor expenses, to achieve financial objectives.
  • Create and manage budgets, track expenses, and analyze financial reports.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor a diverse team of cafeteria staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new employees, ensuring they receive the necessary training and support to excel in their roles.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of food and other supplies.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and develop innovative menus, taking into consideration customer preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutritional guidelines.
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control are consistently met.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems for inventory management, food rotation, and waste reduction.
  • Foster a positive and welcoming dining experience for customers, addressing feedback, concerns, and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging best practices in cafeteria management.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to food safety and sanitation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in a cafeteria, restaurant, or food service establishment.
  • Strong understanding of cafeteria operations, including food preparation, service, and inventory management.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to cafeteria management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required.

Company Requirements:

  • Must be able to consent to a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Ability to follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.

Position Details:

  • Status: Full Time
  • Work Days: Monday-Friday
  • Pay: $45-$50k (based on prior experience)
