Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our hotel's audio-visual department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, strong leadership and management skills, and a deep understanding of audio and visual equipment. As a Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audio and visual department, managing a team of technicians, and providing technical support to clients and event personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee weekly operations of the audio and visual department.
  • Manage a team of Operation Managers and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Set up and operate audio and visual equipment for events, meetings, and presentations.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of all equipment and make necessary repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks to prevent equipment failures during events.
  • Provide technical support to clients and event personnel.
  • Work with event coordinators to ensure that the audio and visual requirements are met for each event.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and equipment in the industry.
  • Train and mentor technicians to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Manage budgets and forecast future expenses.
  • Develop and implement long-term plans for the audio and visual department.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and development and take a proactive approach to managing the department.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve their goals and meet department objectives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, event personnel, and team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in audio and visual technology
  • Strong knowledge of audio and visual equipment, including projection systems, sound reinforcement systems, and lighting systems
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Familiarity with the latest technology and equipment in the audio and visual industry
  • Proven history of success in leadership roles

Other Duties

  • Other related duties as required or assigned.

Required Technical Skills (Minimum)

  • Audio - microphones, speakers, sound systems, channel mixers, etc.
  • Video - LCD, LED, projectors, screens, monitors, etc.
  • Lighting - GOBO, gels, uplighting, basic lighting kits, stage lighting, etc.
  • Computers - Advanced knowledge on PC and Mac software
