Position Summary


Responsible for the internal and external sales of audiovisual technology for various events serviced by Five-Star AudioVisual. This includes participating in onsite visits by prospective clients, solicitation of new business and ensuring that our customers receive the proper equipment needed to accomplish their objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Secures maximum amount of AV PAR
  • Communicate by telephone and written correspondence to determine the client’s needs
  • Works closely with hotel sales staff and others to develop sales leads for upcoming conventions and meetings
  • Works closely with the audiovisual office when consulting with clients on selection, reservation, and acquisition of audiovisual equipment and services
  • Uses customized meeting diagrams and Five-Star Audio Visual’s computerized billing system and marketing materials to create and deliver sales presentations detailing equipment, service prices and labor quotations
  • Develops and enhances relationship with hotel sales and convention services personnel. Often serves as the main Five-Star representative at the group’s arrival
  • Negotiate directly with clients when necessary on costs to ensure that no audiovisual business is lost due to pricing
  • Minimizes service challenges through advance client contract consulting
  • Establish and maintain sales files to track all future bookings
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with VIP/repeat hotel clients
  • Attends all site inspections and pre-and post-event meetings
  • Review final billing directly with client and obtain approval of all audiovisual charges
  • Follow up with all clients through thank you letters and post event service evaluations
  • Follow and act in accordance with all company rules and policies in regard to general operation of the company, including but not limited to sales and promotional policies, procedures and specific company rules
  • Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and image of self

Other Duties

  • Other related duties and special projects as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Direct experience with related customer service responsibilities. Proven experience in developing positive customer relationships and seeking ways to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in high volume environment
  • Possesses the skills and knowledge necessary to capture new business for the organization by actively researching client organizations through a variety of resources
  • Proactively listens and clarifies customers’ needs and continually following up in meeting customers’ needs while maximizing profits
  • Understands the local market and demonstrates the ability to handle objections and competition
  • Understands customers’ needs intimately and matches them to the appropriate services and products. Has the ability to grasp the customers’ perspective while acting as a trusted advisor
  • Encourages and supports the ongoing development and education of individuals in the profit center
  • Exhibits well-developed communication skills, both oral and written; is clear, concise, sincere and persuasive
  • Pursues sales goals beyond what is required or expected of him/her

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in the audiovisual industry
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with audiovisual setups and strikes
  • Exceptional customer service or hospitality experience required
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required to operate company vehicle
  • Certification in audiovisual technology or related courses (preferred)

Required Technical Skills (Minimum)

  • Audio - microphones, speakers, sound systems, channel mixers, etc.
  • Video - LCD, LED, projectors, screens, monitors, etc.
  • Lighting - GOBO, gels, uplighting,basic lighting kits, stage lighting, etc.
  • Computers - Advanced knowledge on PC and Mac software
