firstPRO Inc. is Hiring a Payroll and Benefits Assistant Near Philadelphia, PA

Position Overview:
The Payroll and Benefits Assistant provides support in administering payroll processes and employee benefits programs for the organization. Reporting to the Payroll Manager or HR Manager, this role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, as well as assisting with benefits administration. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience in payroll or benefits management, proficiency in payroll software such as PrimePay or SynchHR, and preferably holds an Associate Degree or higher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll for employees, including data entry, calculating hours, deductions, and withholding taxes, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Benefits Administration: Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits, by assisting with enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Timekeeping Management: Review and verify employee timesheets or timecards for accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Payroll and Benefits Data Entry: Enter and maintain employee data accurately in the payroll and benefits systems, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefit elections.
  • Payroll Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders, including earnings statements, payroll registers, and labor cost analysis.
  • Benefits Reporting: Assist in preparing and distributing benefits-related reports, such as enrollment summaries, eligibility reports, and benefits deductions analysis.
  • Payroll and Benefits Reconciliation: Reconcile payroll and benefits data to ensure accuracy and completeness, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Employee Communication: Provide assistance to employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries, issues, and requests, delivering excellent customer service and timely resolution.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with payroll-related laws and regulations, as well as benefits plan documents, including ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA regulations.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and update payroll and benefits system parameters, tax tables, and employee data, ensuring data integrity and system accuracy.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll and benefits administration processes, systems, and workflows, and collaborate with the HR team to implement changes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 1 years of experience in payroll or benefits management role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with payroll software, such as PrimePay or SynchHR, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of payroll and benefits laws, regulations, and best practices is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
