Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the development and implementation of organizational training, education and team member development. Fanatically focused on continually improving the training and onboarding experience for all employees. Enhances and develops the talents of team members to meet the needs, strategies and goals of the organization by planning, coordinating and managing team member training and development programs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day leadership and strategic direction for Retail Learning & Development.
  • Maintains a collaborative, engaging and communicative relationship with retail leadership, market presidents, HR and other key stakeholders.
  • Develops individualized and group training programs to meet business needs and organizational goals.
  • Organizes and develops training manuals, knowledge repository, evaluation procedures, digital aids and other educational materials.
  • Explores and implements various modalities to deliver content efficiently and effectively across a diverse geographic footprint. Manages the technologies required to develop, manage and deliver training.
  • Trains managers in effective training techniques to ensure time spent with employees on learning and development is maximized.
  • Works with leadership to establish clear career-pathing programs to ensure employees have the opportunity to grow and progress within the Firstar organization.
  • Effectively manages the training budget.
  • Performs ongoing needs analyses and formulates training programs to meet those needs.
  • Evaluates organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting business needs and improving performance.
  • Assesses team member skills, performance, and productivity to identify areas of improvement.
  • Manages relationships with any external vendors necessary to optimize training delivery.

  • Strong interpersonal service-oriented skills and aptitude.
  • Entrepreneurial leader who can create and communicate strategic vision for Learning & Development.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills as well as the ability to understand bank policies and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement: quickly and accurately analyze information and make decisions.
  • Ability to build relationships with employees across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to various working environments.
  • Excellent organization skills/efficient time management; ability to multi-task.
  • Proactive rather than reactive approach to the job.
  • Strong sense of initiative; self-motivated.
  • Ability and willingness to work with all departments at all locations.
  • Strong attention to detail while still successfully multitasking.
  • High integrity and outstanding work ethic; ability to maintain confidentiality is a requirement.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Qualifications


Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, leadership or organizational development, training, human resources or related field.
  • Five years in education or learning and development management.
  • Banking experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Typically requires sitting for long periods of time with intermittent stooping, bending, and walking.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds which may include the need for independent mobility to: bend, reach, or kneel.
  • Visual and auditory skills are required.
  • Ability to travel within the market on a regular basis.
  • May be required to work some evenings and/or weekends as necessary.
