First Student | First Transit is Hiring a Compensation Analyst Near Cincinnati, OH

Major Responsibilities

  • Conducts market studies and internal job reviews. Determines job market value and grade and prepares employee salary recommendations. Determines exemption status under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Coordinates salary administration program, for example: maintains job codes/titles in HR system; maintains job description files; conducts federal/state minimum wage reviews; prepares/delivers compensation or HR-related training.
  • Completes salary surveys and salary planning surveys in support of the market data required for job/market studies.
  • Updates and maintains job and employee data in PayFactors compensation system. Identifies job matches and prepares recommendations. Works toward goal of 100% survey matches to all salaried and office hourly positions in all companies, U.S. and Canada.
  • Coordinates and administers the annual Performance, Development & Merit Increase processes.
  • Administers incentive plan payouts (e.g., Annual Incentive Plan)
  • Identifies process-related efficiencies to ensure maximum productivity and accuracy. Maintains up-to-date desk procedures and develops new procedures as appropriate. May lead and/or support various projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintains company organization charts and performs other tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

  • Bachelors Degree in HR or Business or related degree and/or experience required
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Minimum Experience or Skills Required

  • Technology
    • Must have strong overall computing capability, including Excel, internet, and importing and exporting files. Mid-level experience required for MSWord and PowerPoint.
  • Skills
    • Ability to develop and analyze processes, identify and correct inefficiencies and develop procedures
    • Communication Skills and the ability to work effectively with Department Heads, peers and employees at all levels
    • Ability to manage time and priorities and meet project deadlines
    • General Office Skills
  • Experience
    • (1-3 Years) Application of various compensation principles, laws and regulations
    • (1-3 Years) Analysis of large volumes of data and situations; developing alternatives and presenting results of analyses

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Physical Requirements:
    • Incumbent must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone.
  • Working Conditions:
    • Office with heating and cooling 95% of the time
  • Travel:
    • Minimal travel, local trips, not requiring overnight stay by air, bus or auto
    • Minimal domestic trips, requiring overnight stay by air, bus or auto
