FieldCore is Hiring a Global EHS Leader Near Atlanta, GA

Role Summary/Purpose

Our Global Environmental Health & Safety Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives and strategy. This role will work in close collaboration with the CEO & Region GMs to establish an overall EHS global strategy and execution framework. In addition, the leader will work closely with the entire leadership staff to drive EHS operational excellence across the organization, manage complex functional issues, lead long-term EHS planning, and develop & drive a culture of safety & compliance throughout our business.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide strong EHS leadership for a global field services organization of approximately 8000 employees including OSS and O&M in GE Gas Power. Drive functional goals and objectives, and drive a positive, can-do culture across the EHS organization.
  • Lead key EHS strategic imperatives for a globally dispersed field services business, with customer site operations and fixed tooling facilities
  • Drive standardization of EHS processes and field procedures, and further operationalize the EHS function globally
  • Build strong relationships across the leadership team of 20 executives, keeping safety, quality, and delivery, and cost in order, with safety first always.
  • Lead a team of approximately 10 direct reports, with global ownership of up to 70 EHS staff globally. Provide functional oversight and competency development for 250 site safety specialists deployed in the field, via matrixed reporting structure.
  • Demonstrate EHS strategic and tactical knowledge to deliver excellence and drive continuous improvement using principles of Lean
  • Contribute to EHS strategy and programs for GE Vernova, and serve on as needed in cross enterprise EHS teams, committees, etc.
  • Provide leadership, support and technical guidance to assure programs are developed and effectively implemented that provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees worldwide, and maintain compliance to health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Build a diverse, high performing, collaborative team with a common vision who consistently delivers results
  • Process own and track key EHS operational metrics, including leading and lagging indicators (up to and including hazard hunts, safety audits, I&I rate, training, etc)
  • Work collaboratively inside and outside of the organization, to identify and leverage best practices from other businesses, partners and customers.
  • Improve existing programs, or revamp with new EHS programs, through simplification, and align with broader GE Vernova programs and initiatives where applicable.
  • Understand regulatory changes and trends and, as a result, forecast business impact or needs
  • Develop a strong front line EHS leadership team, capable of coaching talent to grow their career potential, driving a positive employee relations culture, and recognizing and rewarding superior EHS behaviors
  • Build strong working relationships across the entire business leadership team, and throughout the organization. Use voice of employee input to drive improvements and changes for site team members, including craft technicians, supervisors and field engineers.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or 4 year degree from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environmental studies, Science or Engineering, Operations, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in EHS, compliance, regulatory programs, operations, quality, field services, engineering, or other related fields,
  • 3 or more years of global executive leadership experience, with exposure to several EHS areas in an industrial, manufacturing, services, or operations environment

Desired Characteristics

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in Health & Safety, Environmental studies, Science or Engineering, Operations, Business Administration or related field
  • Knowledge of field services in the power generation industry, and/or experience with field services for industrial, field technicians and engineers
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Strong team building & listening skills; able to drive a positive employee relations culture into the field
  • Strong operations background. Able to employ key EHS programs and metrics into the operation seamlessly for success.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
  • Strong executive presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships up, down and across the organization
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization as well as organizations externally (customers and regulatory agencies)
  • High energy, self-starter
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Formal Health and Safety or environmental qualification/s

Compensation and Benefits:

The annual salary range for this position is $221,900 to $355,100. This is an exempt from overtime position. FieldCore benefits include insurance (medical, dental, vision, disability, and life), retirement savings, health and Wellness reimbursement, and a bonus or incentive program. Eligibility for FieldCore benefits is determined under the terms of the applicable benefits plan.
